A GIFT OF HOPE: BRINGING THE CHRISTMAS MESSAGE TO THAILAND

As Christmas approaches, the stark contrast between Thai and Canadian traditions becomes striking. While Canadians dream of a “white Christmas,” the reality in Thailand includes warm, sunny days with average temperatures soaring to 31°C in mid-December. Yet, amid this tropical backdrop, FEBC Canada and FEBC Thailand are committed to sharing the true meaning of Christmas through its “Christmas Give with Love” initiative, now in its fifth year.

FEBC Thailand’s annual “Christmas Give with Love” initiative seeks to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ, mobilizing believers across Thailand to celebrate Christmas through acts of service and outreach beyond church walls. With over 2,000 dedicated volunteers, this initiative reaches many provinces around the countries, inviting people to donate toys for underprivileged children and distributing Bibles and Gospel books to those seeking God’s word.

Sumet Techarukpong, National Director of FEBC Thailand, highlighted the heart of this annual initiative, saying “Since Jesus was the first Christmas gift, we wanted underprivileged children – mainly between the ages of 7 and 12 – to receive gifts as well.” FEBC Thailand’s “Christmas Give with Love” aims to reflect the love of Christ through the act of giving, ensuring that the true meaning of Christmas touches the hearts of the Thai people. Each gift not only brings joy to a child, but also opens a door about the message of hope found in Jesus.

In 2023, God blessed this outreach abundantly as FEBC Thailand partnered with 205 churches and 117 schools across 49 provinces to bring Christ’s Hope to underprivileged children at Christmas. With an initial goal of distributing 10,000 gifts, they far exceeded expectations. By year-end, they had redistributed over 30,000 gifts, delivered 45,000 books and bibles to those in spiritual need, and welcomed 6,843 new believers into God’s family. This remarkable success was not measured in the number of gifts distributed, but also in the eternal impact of Christ’s love shared across the nation.

GIVE NOW
With the goal of reaching over three million people this year, especially to the unreached, FEBC Thailand has expanded their media outreach, partnered with 250 local churches, mobilized over 2,500 dedicated volunteers, and allocated $432,000CAD to accomplish their mission.

The unified efforts of all the FEBC staff, local churches, and volunteers throughout Thailand amplify the reach and impact of “Christmas Give with Love”, making it a powerful, nationwide effort to share Christ’s love.

FEBCanada has committed to raising $30,000CAD in support of this initiative’s media production and online celebration programs which feature Thai celebrities and artists. In Chiangmai, FEBCanada’s own missionaries – Sionh, Khamyeng, Joshua and Nit – are faithfully serving alongside Thai believers and actively involved with this initiative each Christmas season.

For over 40 years, FEBCanada has been a proud supporter of this life-changing ministry. As we approach the Christmas season, we invite our faithful partners to stand with us in prayer and giving. Your support can help ensure that the true message of Christmas – a message of love, hope, and joy – touches countless hearts in Thailand. By partnering with us, you are helping bring hope to those searching for the truth this Christmas.

OUR APPRECIATION

Each donation enables us to spread God’s love, and as a token of appreciation, FEBCanada would like to invite you to visit our office in Richmond BC and hang a special ornament on our Christmas tree. Each ornament represents a life touched, a soul reached, and a heart encouraged by the message of salvation. Together, we’ll illuminate this season with the eternal hope found in Jesus, one ornament—and one hour—at a time.
