Bringing the Hope of Christ to Ukraine’s Next Generation

Bringing the Hope
of Christ to Ukraine’s Next Generation

Even in the midst of war, FEBC-Ukraine continues to faithfully share the Gospel with children and teenagers – offering the unshakeable hope found in Jesus Christ. Through radio, digital media, and in-person ministry, the next generation is hearing the life-changing message of God’s love in Ukraine’s most difficult times.

From cities under constant shelling to displaced communities searching for stability, the FEBC team in Ukraine is helping the next generation encounter Christ in ways that speak to their hearts and circumstances.

Sharing the Good News Through Radio

While many young people today are growing up in a digital age, radio—one of the oldest forms of media–remains a powerful tool God is using to reach the hearts of children in Ukraine. Every day, the FEBC team in Ukraine broadcast a 20-30 minute program specifically designed for children and teens. Though this form of media is traditional, the message is relevant, filled with Bible stories, audiobooks, short lessons about how the world works, and uplifting stories about God’s creation.

In the front-line regions like Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia, electricity can be unreliable, internet access is often lost, and digital platforms can go silent. In these outage areas radio continues to be a lifeline. For many families, it remains their only source for up-to-date information and encouragement.

Parents frequently send messages of gratitude, sharing how FEBC’s programs have brought peace, joy and renewed faith to their children in the midst of fear and uncertainty.

Transforming New Media into
Ministry for Ukraine’s Youth

As the FEBC team in Ukraine continues to reach children through radio, their mission is also expanding into the digital world – bringing the message of Jesus to young viewers in engaging and relatable ways. The team produces short, animated clips (3-5 minutes) which share simple stories of the life of Christ, translated and dubbed into Ukrainian so that even the youngest children can understand the love of Jesus.

Beyond new digital media platforms, the FEBC team in Ukraine also regularly welcome school children and teens – including many who do not yet know Christ – to attend workshops at their production studio. During these workshops, they can learn how a radio station works, meet the on-air hosts, and discover how these media platforms can be used for good. These encounters often spark meaningful conversations about faith, and open hearts to the hope, purpose, and creativity that come from knowing Christ.

Sharing the Good News Through Radio

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the FEBC team in Ukraine is actively exploring ways to reach young audiences through emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. The team has already begun producing content using AI tools and has shared their experience at a recent media conference to demonstrate how technology can be used to further the Gospel.

By embracing and testing new innovations and methods, the FEBC team in Ukraine has been able to create more relevant, engaging material that speaks to the hearts of young people growing up in a digital world.

A Lifeline for Teens in a Time of War and Uncertainty

Teenagers in Ukraine are facing immense challenges. Many come from divided families, in which one parent is serving in the army or living abroad.

This year, the FEBC team in Ukraine is launching a new weekly program designed specifically for teenagers. Together with the program host, Varia, teens are invited to engage in honest conversation about real-life challenges, such as fear, loss, mistakes and victories. Then they are invited to connect through FEBC’s “Trust Line” and online counseling services, where they can continue to talk to someone who cares. Through this new teen program, FEBC is helping teens process through their pain, rebuild a community, and encounter a God who understands their struggles and offers everlasting hope.

Lifting Up a Generation in Need of Hope

The FEBC team in Ukraine’s ministry to the next generation continues to grow – through radio broadcasts, social media outreach, hands-on workshops, and one-on-one counseling sessions. For those in Ukraine, it is a season of deep uncertainty, and God is using these efforts to shine His light into the hearts of the next generation – bringing preaching, comfort, and the hope of new beginnings through Christ.

Please continue to pray for the FEBC team; for their broadcasters, counselors and volunteers as they continue to serve the next generation of believers.
