Luis Miguel (Lucho) Cas-tillo, FEBC International’s CEO in the Philippines, will be the guest speaker on FEBCanada’s British Colum-bia Interior friendship tour, which begins in Cranbrook on April 30 and concludes in Grande Prairie, Alberta, on May 14. Lucho was appointed Chief Executive Officer in June 2023 during the ministry's 75th anniversary celebration in Manila. He succeeded Dan Andrew Cura, who has retired and now serves on the ministry’s board of trustees. During the BC tour, Lucho will give audiences an over-view of the domestic radio ministry in the Philippines – which operates 13 regional AM and FM stations that broadcast programs in the national languages of Filipi-no (Tagalog) and English, and in the heart languages of nearly 30 different people-groups. Alongside its YouTube and Facebook channels, the Fili-pino ministry provides com-munication assistance through First Response Ra-dio, which sets up emergency mobile radio stations in dis-aster-affected areas. The Philippines is also home to FEBC Interna-tional’s far-reaching short-wave broadcast operations in the municipalities of Bocaue and Iba, transmitting into Southeast Asia in over 40 languages. Lucho joined FEBC Inter-national in the Philippines in June 2021 as the minis-try’s Chief Operations Of-ficer. He worked with depart-ment heads to support em-ployees' day-to-day activities and ensure the ministry’s operations aligned with its overall vision, mission, and strategies. Previously, Lucho was em-ployed for over twenty years in the corporate world, in-cluding multinational Zuellig Pharma Corporation and The Coca-Cola Bottling Compa-ny Philippines, Inc., where he managed and led various roles in operational excel-lence, data analytics, sales operations, and key account management. Following his service to the Lord in the corporate world, Lucho answered God’s call to full-time ministry work, where he engaged the poorest of the poor with God’s Word while working closely with pastors on spiritual develop-ment programs. Lucho graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and is a Certified Business Administrator. Lucho and his wife (Tin), have three children: Anton Miguel, Carlo Miguel, and Isabel Marie.
