Luis Miguel (Lucho) Castillo – FEBC’s Chief Executive Officer in the Philippines will be the guest speaker on FEBCanada’s Central Canada Friendship Tour that begins in Toronto on May 18, and concludes in Sault Ste. Marie on June 1.

Lucho was appointed as CEO in June 2023, during the ministry’s 75th anniversary in Manila. He succeeded Dan Andrew Cura, who retired from the leadership position ... and now serves on the ministry’s board of trustees.

During the spring tour in Ontario and Quebec, Lucho will give audiences an overview of the domestic radio ministry in the Philippines – which operates 13 regional AM and FM stations in 12 gateway cities that air programs in Filipino (Tagalog), English, and 17 minority languages.

Alongside its YouTube and Facebook channels, the Filipino ministry provides communications assistance through First Response Radio – which sets up emergency mobile radio stations in disaster-affected areas.

The Philippines is also home to FEBC’s powerful and far-reaching shortwave stations in the municipalities of Bocaue and Iba that transmit into Southeast Asia in over 40 languages.

Lucho joined FEBC in the Philippines in June 2021 as the ministry’s Chief Operations Officer – where he worked with department heads to support the day-to-day activities of employee; and ensured that the ministry’s operations aligned with its corporate vision, mission, and strategies.

Previously, Lucho was employed for over twenty years in the corporate world – including the multinational Zuellig Pharma Corporation and The Coca-Cola Bottling Company Philippines – where he managed and led various roles in operational excellence, data analytics, sales operations, and key account management.

Following his successful career in the corporate world, Lucho answered God’s call to full-time ministry work where he engaged the poorest of the poor with God’s Word, while working closely with pastors on spiritual development programs.

Lucho graduated from the University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, and is a Certified Business Administrator.

Lucho and his wife (Tin) have three grown children: Anton Miguel, Carlo Miguel,and Isabel Marie.
