FEBC International’s Eurasian director Dr. Victor Akhterov, will be the guest speaker on FEBCanada’s Eastern Prairies (Saskatchewan and Manitoba) friendship tour – which begins in Moose Jaw on March 18, and concludes in Regina on April 11.

Victor will be sharing his current vision for Ukraine … as well as Russia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.

Amidst hostile environments, Victor will report on how the broadcast ministry has and continues to effectively orchestrate the structuring and revitalization of the media network in each of these countries.

“During this most difficult time in the history of FEBC International in Ukraine, it is important not to be dismayed,” says Victor. “Instead, we need to fulfill the vision of inspiring Ukrainians to follow Jesus Christ – this is what our team members are doing – by encouraging people that are losing their homes, belongings, children, and friends. Each one of us has also lost someone; and we are sharing hope with others, as we are dealing with our own pain.”

Despite the brutal war, Victor says the Lord has orchestrated the launching of three new FM stations over the past three years – one in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv.

Also, through Victor’s leadership, the broadcast network has restructured and revitalized its ministry in Russia – so that even under the most difficult circumstances and restrictions, mil-lions of people are being reached every week!

“This is the time of spiritual harvest in both Russia and Ukraine,” adds Victor. “In my 36 years of ministry, I’ve never seen so many people coming to know the Lord … and I want to thank Canadian ministry partners for helping to make this possible, through their prayer and significant financial support.”

While growing up in the former Soviet Union, Victor remembers spending his teenage years without his father – who was imprisoned for nearly eleven years for his faith. At that time, Victor and his family were living in Ukraine’s Donbas region, where the war has raged for some time.

Upon completing his studies in leadership and theology, Victor became one of the key leaders for the radio ministry for the five Eurasian countries mentioned.

Victor is married to Oksana, and the couple have two grown sons: Dennis (married to Alyona) and Stephen; and granddaughter Mia.
