As a good ambassador for FEBC International, Jonathan Mortiz has served the overseas ministry well in broadcasting Filipino programs; assisting the ministry leadership in Thailand; facilitating the new work in Malaysia; and providing transitional guidance for the net-work’s recently announced Ethnic entity in Southeast Asia.

As the guest speaker on FEBCanada’s Southern Ontario friendship tour – which begins in Sarnia on March 18 – Jonathan will be sharing about his involvement in this part of Asia’s world.

In 1987, Jonathan was hired as an announcer at radio station DZAS – the ministry’s domestic AM station in Manila. In 1993, following Jonathan’s marriage to Noralynn a year earlier, the couple moved to the island of Saipan with their infant son Zak – where he served as Filipino program director and announcer at FEBC International’s shortwave radio station. (The Saipan station was decommissioned in 2011, following 27 years of broadcasting.)

In 1995, the couple returned to Manila – where Jonathan became the manager of Papuri (the Filipino ministry’s musical Gospel outreach); he also continued announcing at DZAS.
The Mortiz family (including daughter Keziah, who was born on Saipan) settled in California in 1997 – where Jonathan became the ministry’s U.S.-based liaison to Filipino Americans living in the United States.

This same year marked the arrival of the couple’s third child (Keren) … and also the beginning of Jonathan’s 18-year-long ministry at Irvine’s Woodbridge Community Church in California, where he served as Missions and Worship pastor.

At the request of FEBC-USA, Jonathan and Noralynn moved to Bangkok in 2019, to be of service to FEBC Thailand. Since then, Jonathan has served in various leadership roles to help facilitate and expedite the media ministry’s multicultural development throughout the Southeast Asian region.

Currently, Jonathan is FEBC-USA’s liaison for international ministries … and (in Thailand), continues to work closely with FEBCanada’s Khmu missionaries: Sionh and Joshua Chan.
Jonathan graduated from Bethel Bible College in the Philippines; and obtained a master’s degree in organizational leadership at Biola University in La Mirada, California.
