The Challenge of Reaching China’s Next Generation

In today’s rapidly changing world, China’s youth are navigating pressures and opportunities unlike any generation before them. While the nation has made remarkable advances in education, technology, and connectivity, the next generation is growing up in a culture marked by high expectations, rapid change, and new social influences – leaving many young people searching for hope, guidance, and purpose.

Even after completing university, many young people are finding the job market highly competitive, with limited opportunities that align with their education and aspirations.Mental health challenges among children and adolescents are also becoming more common, influenced by social pressures, and reduced face-to-face connections in an increasingly digital world. This has left many young adults questioning their next steps and seeking direction.

Amid these realities, one question remains urgent: How can FEBC continue to faithfully guide and inspire the next generation in their faith?

Across China, churches and faith communities have been exploring ways to reach this generation and help young believers remain connected. One such effort is FEBC Chinese-language program “Youth Buddies” produced by the LiangYou team, created to speak directly into the struggles young listeners face today. Aired weekly – soon twice a week – the program offers practical guidance and encouragement through faith-based conversation.

Through honest discussions on identity, relationships, emotional well-being, and faith, the hosts of “Youth Buddies” remind listeners that their worth is not defined by grades, jobs, or success, but by God’s unconditional love.

Even amid challenges, God is at work – and FEBC continues to play a key role in reaching young people with His truth. Through Christian media, online resources, and thoughtful programming, young believers are discovering hope, purpose, and their identity in Christ. Faith often offers what the world cannot – a lasting peace, guidance, and a love that transcends circumstances.

Sharing Christ in a Digital Generation

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the FEBC team in Ukraine is actively exploring ways to reach young audiences through emerging technologies like artificial intelligence. The team has already begun producing content using AI tools and has shared their experience at a recent media conference to demonstrate how technology can be used to further the Gospel.

By embracing and testing new innovations and methods, the FEBC team in Ukraine has been able to create more relevant, engaging material that speaks to the hearts of young people growing up in a digital world.

Lifting Up a Generation in Need of Hope

The FEBC team in Ukraine’s ministry to the next generation continues to grow – through radio broadcasts, social media outreach, hands-on workshops, and one-on-one counseling sessions. For those in Ukraine, it is a season of deep uncertainty, and God is using these efforts to shine His light into the hearts of the next generation – bringing preaching, comfort, and the hope of new beginnings through Christ.

A Lifeline for Teens in a Time of War and Uncertainty

Teenagers in Ukraine are facing immense challenges. Many come from divided families, in which one parent is serving in the army or living abroad.

This year, the FEBC team in Ukraine is launching a new weekly program designed specifically for teenagers. Together with the program host, Varia, teens are invited to engage in honest conversation about real-life challenges, such as fear, loss, mistakes and victories. Then they are invited to connect through FEBC’s “Trust Line” and online counseling services, where they can continue to talk to someone who cares. Through this new teen program, FEBC is helping teens process through their pain, rebuild a community, and encounter a God who understands their struggles and offers everlasting hope.
