PHILIPPINES

OUR FOCUS

A large majority of the Philippines is Catholic, Buddhist, B’hai or Mormon. Christianity is growing, but Christians are still lacking points of contact – such as churches, resources and Christian programs – to help the Christian community.

When the door was closed to set up permanent radio broadcast facilities in China in the late 1940s, FEBC International went to the Philippines instead. The very first broadcast over local station KZAS went on the air on June 4, 1948 in Manila. With the help of Chinese Filipino Christians, international broadcasts to China started on July 27, 1949 and soon expanded to most of Southeast Asia. FEBC International’s six shortwave transmitters in two international broadcast facilities at Iba and Bocaue, air programs in more than 60 languages and dialects. FEBC International in the Philippines is now home to both a network of local radio stations, in addition to the two international transmitter sites. As the Asian hub of operations, the Philippines needs your support to continue reaching people domestically … as well as in China and throughout Southeast Asia.
